About Koh Phangan

About Koh Phangan

The magical island of Koh Phangan (also spelled Ko Pha Ngan) is a relaxed oasis in the Gulf of Thailand with some of the best beaches in the entire South-East of Thailand. It is Thailand’s fifth biggest island and is covering an area of 167 sqkm of which over 90% is unspoilt tropical forest. Koh Phangan is located twelve kilometers north of Koh Samui and approximately one hundred kilometers from Suratthani.

Koh Phangan’s attractions are self-evident: its stunning, unspoilt beaches, breathtaking views and powder-soft sand along with it’s tropical rainforest island interior are all features that endear the island. Along with these obvious draws, the spiritual side of the island is manifest through its twenty temples, each with its own serene and unique atmosphere.
